ABOUT AMERICAN SONG CONTEST
America's biggest live entertainment event has arrived! Based on the worldwide phenomenon "Eurovision Song Contest," a musical spectacular watched by 200 million viewers annually, "American Song Contest," the U.S. version of the international megahit, will feature live original musical performances, representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the nation's capital, competing to win the country's vote for Best Original Song. A solo artist, duo, DJ or band will represent each location and perform a new, original song. The live competition will consist of three rounds as the acts compete in Qualifying Rounds, Semi Finals and the ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious.

"American Song Contest" will be produced by Anders Lenhoff, Christer Björkman, Peter Settman and Ola Melzig alongside Propagate's Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens and Gregory Lipstone. The series is from Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The difference between this and Eurovision is that you aren't aloud to Lip Sync on Eurovision. 😂😂😂

It feels like a cop out to choose major artists like Michael Bolton who have never had independent cred. There are SO many singers looking for exposure in CT!

Also.. the first ep was fun (Oklahoma!), but I wish the “No lip syncing” had carried over from ESC! The LIVE singing & anything that comes with that is part of a LIVE experience

Artists who rep and smile Agree...nice concept.. Entertaining.. Kelly demonstates a hopeful, musical vision. Wish success to all Feel some type of way after sone songs.
