Tarantulas was a factor in getting over my arachnophobia. Mostly because 99% of them are harmless to humans. And them being so colorful makes them cute.

Theyre cute! And while they dont feel affection or love the same way we do, some species of tarantula can be taught to associate their owner with food and safety and even to play, and thats close enough.

Now THIS is how you handle a tarantula. Always keep them near a solid surface, so they can't fall.
Some of these beasts are as big as the person's entire hand! As much as I love tarantulas and spiders in general, even I might get mildly creeped by those larger ones :)
