I plan to try both out next week. Looking forward to it.

The longer ATA you have, theoretically, there should be less bow-induced torque from the cable guard. This is due to the fact that the greater the distance between the cable-guard and cam, the less torque there will be.

Question please> can you fit a drop away rest on both bows?

I have both, and like both. I have the 3-D version maxed out on draw weight (60.5#) for the extra speed, and shoot it for field and 3D. It's also easier to lug around, being a bit smaller and better-balanced. I have the 40" version for indoor and fixed position outdoor target archery where speed isn't critical, and have it set at 55#. I agree that as far as overall feel I think the 3-D is perfect, but I don't want to shoot 60# end after end when speed isn't critical.

Can you please review the triax and do an accuracy test because i heard it performs well for a short ATA

All this "long bow is better for target" & "long bow is more accurate" business . What is "long" & what is "short" ? 40" is VERY long ! Why should the big long bow be "better" ? Highly disputable. I'd go for that nice 3D model every time ! Been shooting for many years with many compound bows, have a 29" draw length; fave bows & ones that have scored best (for me) have been on the shorter side.

I've been shooting 6 days a week and I still suck. Something is askew with your mantra;) And I'm with ObelixCMM, 3D vs. Shootdown.

When you say you’ve been shooting better scores with the Perform 3D is that for indoor or 3D? Did you chrono the 50 verses 60 pound

Tradition is overrated. The Perform X 3D, is great for anyone with a shorter DL, 27 1/2 and less. I shoot target and I shot the Dominator 3D max, I loved it! Since I switched to the Perform X 3D I have gotten my best scores! Up from a 674 to a 680 (and still climbing) for only having it for 5 weeks! Dream bow to shoot!

i tried the shootdown, and i was very disappointed. i also think the rep didn't know how to set it up.

Not being judgemental but who cares about being acceptable socially shooting an untraditionally shorter bow for target archery. If you was shooting better with the 3D then that's a no Brainer,

Why worry about whats socially acceptible? surely it's about how you feel?

Thank you very much for your reviews! They helped me to make a choice in favor of PSE performances X3 3d. I am very pleased with the bow, but there is a small problem. After three weeks of use, a strong creak appeared in the area of the lower cam. The bow did not fall under the rain. Did this ever happen to you? Do you know the solution to this problem as an experienced user of PSE?
