So we’re going to cover just how to get Dragons and dragon eggs after their gone. So let’s answer who comes first, The Dragon or the Egg - we’ll also sweeten the deal with some other secrets we found along the way. Lets start off easy shall we?

They need to introduce the Magical Easter Bunny of Essos that grants dragon eggs on a quest

You can also get a dragon egg if you upgrade the ruins of Summerhall. I don’t know if it’s a small chance or if always happens but on my first run after the update I got an emerald dragon egg when I finished upgrading and turned the ruins into a castle.

I don't know if it's been said before, but I will confirm you CAN actually get one by fully rebuilding Summerhall. After you've rebuilt the 4 stages of the ruin and THEN rebuilt the palace itself (the landmark) you get an event where you're finalizing the clean-up of the place and you find one egg among the debris. Beware though that each stage is about 500-700 pieces of gold and can take more 8 years. And I'm talking with the architect upgrades.
Also I don't know if it triggers always, or if you're not a Targaryen, but I can confirm it works with custom characters.

NGL, I'd love the ability to just sponsor myself on an adventure. A literal 'Adventurer event chain' but instead of RNG'ing an NPC to spawn, just launch an 'Adventure' activity like you would a hunt or a feast. Travel to your target destination, get a bunch of events along the way like a normal NPC adventure does, get the rewards based on what the Intent of the adventure was and the abilities of your character/events that occurred.

i hope they make it easier. I get making it difficult but this is a single player game where a dragon egg is either going to be something that you 100% are going to save scum for or dont even want.

I can confirm that summer hall in Ruins does work. I found a dragon egg there. Also, not sure when or if it hatches but I got an ice and fire egg when I took the iron throne as Jon Snow.

I looked into the game files. There is a 5% chance to get a Emerald Dragon Egg when you use the "Escape to Summerhall" decision. Restoring is not necessary.
By far better odds for save scumming

You can also get an egg if you repair Summerhall (in the COW mod).

I found a dragon Egg in Summerhall after rebuilding the ruin the then Princes Abode special building as Rhaegar. I also managed to get one from a Dragonstone legendary adventure in the same game on my first attempt when the guy randomly showed up at my palace looking for sponsorship.
