Since nobody seems to have mentioned that this is a film score I advise you to watch the movie. It's about 3 hours long but every component is great. Great music, great scenery, great plot, great acting and great cinematography. You won't even notice that you have been sitting still so long that you are sore until after the movie has finished.

I may be a rock/metal guitarist, but this is my favorite composition ever.

I always love listening to this. Love how they use their voices as instruments and not using them lyrically. Enjoyed this and, as always, great reaction.

How does 86 people press dislike on this?? A seemingly wonderful young woman reacting to such a great work of art... Thank you to the creators of this and thank you for your comments and insights reacting!

A German financed, Italian film, produced in Spain is the greatest American western of all time.

Morricone's entire budget for this film was probably less than the cost of this one performance. A true genius of film score composition.

I think the multiple trumpets starting at 4:51 reflect the chaos of the civil war scenes from the movie - competing sounds of bugles communiicating battle plans, clearly audible to each side, and yet each with a different battle order - and in the movie - right afterward the death of the young soldier and the captain speaks to the futility of the war and I think the competing trumpets captures some of this.

Ennio Morricone was a true genius. One story I read about him was he was working on a film and the score wasn’t working. He left and said he’d be back with the revised music. He returned 72 hours later with a complete score with all the necessary parts arranged and the score worked perfectly.

Ennio was a perfect example to anyone not understanding music, but knowing that there is something special. Ennio was special.

This video is from one of this orchestra's live performances. The music played here is actually two pieces from the movie, the first being is the Opening score, the second piece is called the ecstasy of gold sequence where Tuco finds the cemetery where the gold is hidden. What also makes this an iconic video is that the Orchestra is Danish, playing music composed by an Italian, and conducted by an Japanese-American. Truly an international flavor here as well. Oh and as usual I am tearing up listening to this, this performance seems to truly touch me deep in my soul and triggers an emotional response.

After viewing thousands of the "reactions", you by far are the only ONE that knew the facts of the score, the composer, the 1966 movie, and the elements of an orchestra. You should be very proud!

Christine Nonbo Andersen became world famous from singing this piece. I've seen this video dozens of times over the years, and I still get chills when I hear Christine hit those high notes, singing in the upper balcony by herself.

As another Dane I follow these reactions, so Thank You! The hanging man is from the Story Line in the film, as Clint Eastwood, as a shadow in the background! Ennio Morricone gave a Concert i Copenhagen about a year before he died, but I could have hoped for him to listen to this full Orchestra!

i always get chills in my spine whenever i listen to morricone's ecstasy of gold song. it's such a beautiful song. i like your honest opinion on the orchestra some know it all musicians just go along with their music vocabulary when they react to this but never acknowledge how wonderfully danish orchestra performed these scores.
