Pretty sure that the suitcase check-in is becoming standard at British Airways. I tend to fly to Amsterdam and Marseille from London quite often and I have been asked to check in my bag for free so many times that I’ve actually shown up to a flight with more luggage than I was technically allowed, because I was certain I would be able to check in a bag for free, and I was right 😅 I tend to keep valuables like my laptop in my purse for that reason anyways nowadays so that I don’t have to take anything out last minute!

I went to Paris last Christmas! It's pretty unrelated but the south of France seems so nice too, since it has a totally different vibe. I should definitely add it to my bucket list 🏖️ Have fun 😌

It might be a good idea to check if you can get some money back if they had booked the flight fully. I’m not sure if I understood correctly what you meant though. But at least that you needed to check your bag even when you wouldn’t normally have to. Hope you have an awesome trip to France❤
