What would be a good all round size the 32g ? As it's big enough for large fish but not to big for the smaller ones? Any suggestions as I'm about to buy one

I have no idea how to remove that trailerhook. The barb is in the way so I can't remove that rubber bead. If I force it I think it will break. I want to add a softplastic onto it and then put the trailerhook back on, so keeping that bead intact is necessary. Can anyone help me?
