You may have noticed that nearly all ships are painted red below the waterline. But why? Is it some sort of prevention for sea creatures? Some form of marine style? Actually, the answer is much more prosaic. They paint the bottoms of the ships with a special material which stops marine life from dwelling on the ship’s surface. And the material is usually red color.
