Stop And Frisk Not So Bad, Says NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton

"Bill de Blasio, the Democratic mayor-elect who surged to the top of polls this summer while promising to reform the aggressive policing strategy known as stop-and-frisk, has selected a police commissioner who embraced that strategy in the past. William Bratton, who presided over dramatic crime reductions as police commissioner of New York City between 1994 and 1996, and Los Angeles between 2002 and 2009, will once again take over the New York City Police Department." The thing to remember is that the police commissioner answers to the mayor, not the other way around.

Stop and Frisk should be illegal, period. Those who are stopped should band together and file a class action lawsuit.

If applied correctly it could be an effective tool for law enforcemant but a police department like any other bureaucracy will abuse power without any limits on it.

Does TYT not know what Broken Window Theory is? Hint: It does not just mean busting someone for breaking a window. LOL It's like they read the name of a theory in sociology and just made up a definition for it.

Anyone who has taken introductory sociology knows this. It is about social norms and how the environment around people affects their behavior. Repair the windows, put money into the neighborhood and keep it clean--or even better, give it commerce, community and a little bit of liberty to make its own decisions. That's how you solve crime, in many instances.

The biggest problem with Kelly's "Stop and Frisk" is that he and his henchmen only or nearly ALWAYS target Blacks and Hispanics only. I suppose if the law pertained to everyone, then it would be just another invasive law against ALL the people, not just SOME of the people.
