Facts! When I was starting out… I was actually using the big reusable Marshall’s bags to store them. Then I realized I had too many items and wanted something secure to keep from smells (we cook lots of southeast Asian food and it travels into every room). Randomly thought of the big plastic bins and it’s been the best to store and organize!!! Also the see through helps so much. Recently I transitioned to prepackaging them in bags and I’m still debating if I want to keep it. You’re right, it’s a lot of work in the front end. Thanks for the video! It gives me reassurance that what I’m doing is working.

I pretty much did the same thing. Started with loose bins, then a numbering system, then back to loose bins. My husband was in and out of the hospital for months, so it was just easier for me. Now I use Tote Scan, and it’s a life saver. Not only for reselling, but for other things as well. Off season clothing, Holiday decor, tools, supplies, etc..

I just switched to the numbering system and I love it! I ordered bankers boxes and package the items and slap on a sku # sticker and go on my way. I have a spreadsheet that I made to easily track the items. It is a bit more work but I love how streamlined and organized it is!

I wish I just sold clothes and shoes 😢 I have a mix: huge hard items, household dishes, health & beauty, toys etc. I just can't figure out a system.

I do numbered bags in laundry baskets on shelves. I don't consolidate anything, I reuse the numbers after an item sells so I *always* have the numbers going. Less work for me - I'm all about the least amount of work needed lol

I used to do the same thing as you, not using the same numbers, combining bags, but now I ran out of space and I also got lazy so now I just throw them all I'm bins with letters 😭

There is no worse feeling than selling something and not being able to find it, that angst is the worst, I have had close calls with the loose bin system. This resulted in delayed shipping. Now I use the numbered stickers (the roll you use in your video) for each item. Each item is folded carefully as possible and placed in a plastic bag (not an expensive zip lock but a thinner more useful type that I reuse after a sale) then it goes into a bin, which is numbered. This is as you mentioned a bit more time when you list but pays off when you get that sale and want to ship fast. I am still working on my numbered bin system as I think I can improve it even more. Also, there is an exception, and those are the heavy coats or fancy dresses that I do not want to put in bin, those go into a cedar protected closet, also the bins I use have the covers that are attached and flip closed so I am not messing with bin tops that tend to (for me) go missing or don't match (this may be just my own problem lol !), it makes it even a bit faster. Everyone has to do what works for them, but agree, systems make shipping less anxiety-provoking!!! Great video!!! QUESTION: any thoughts on what to do to really organize the closet where those certain items that are not bin-friendly go, and also at what point (number of items??? sales income???) did you feel it was time to go to a storage unit? THANK YOU !!!!

What made you decide not to use the ikea bags to store the #ed items in like you did in your unit?

Hi Rebecca, I was wondering, when your inventory number gets sent out the door with your items, how do you fill that space and keep the numbers in chronological order? Or do you than in your listing put the bin number with a new item number sticker.

Hi there thanks for the great info. Something to consider especially since you live in a humid area are moisture absorbing packets perhaps in your packages to avoid mildew or dampness in the packaging?
