I live in LA and have had a few random encounters with gang members, surprisingly every one of them positive. One time two of them helped me change my flat tire at night in a dark parking lot. They could've easily mugged me with little effort, but instead helped me, shook my hand, and went on their way 👍

As a 50 something white bloke from south london, I find these young men’s situations so stressful, confusing and frustrating, i can’t imagine having to live feeling like I’d have to defend myself from violence everyday, it must be so exhausting. Really feel for them.
