I was actually wondering they always had faults, accident occurrences and seeing this always happen is actually no expectations especially for the community really since they have the knowledge that ROBLOX's system isn't so perfect at all and can be always on the messy side, can't actually still believe this is still always happening though.

I am one of the people listed inside of the data leak. ~4, 000 other people were listed had Developer Forum membership, but not all of them were invited to the Roblox Developer Conference. I believe that it could have been a breach of the Roblox Developer Forums on top of the Roblox Developer Conference invitee list, because I never got invited to Roblox Developer Conference. How they obtained the information is either through a vulnerability in the forum's .jsons, or by socially engineering Roblox Staff. I know several communities that are toxic enough to witch-hunt people they do not like, and with something like this happening: that places several developers at risk of having some serious yet untrue allegations happening to them in real life.

Roblox needs to amp up not only their platform security, but also their team security because it seems like they keep getting socially engineered for this stuff.

It’s still creepy to think about that many Devs had their home addresses, credit card info, and phone numbers were leaked for weeks before it became known.

What’s to say this can’t happen to the average user if this happened to devs?

If roblox had a data breach and told people, people would exploit the weakness, so them keeping quiet about it is actually not a poor decision on their part, aside from the fact they didnt do much about it.

Its basically the same as realising the locks to your house are broken, you wouldnt go telling people thats the case.

I wouldn't exactly call it a major data leak. More of an alarming data leak. A major data leak would imply that a lot of low profile users were affected as in the average Robloxian. This is an alarming leak, but not a leak that affects the general public, who aren't developers that were invited to RDC around 2017-2019.

Its sad because Roblox prioritizes account security by adding an AWFUL trade hold update that does nothing but hurt early game traders, yet cant seem to keep their data secure. This is a billion dollar corporation keep in mind.
