Hiking in the Aussie sun! We Were NOT Ready for This Hike

Join us as we take on one of the best hikes in Australia — the Pinnacle Loop Trail from Halls Gap in the heart of the Grampians! 🇦🇺⛰️

We kick off this incredible Grampians day hike feeling well-prepared… or so we thought! With water bottles filled, the AllTrails app loaded, and snacks in our bag, we hit the track. Not long into the walk, we realise we’ve seriously underestimated the heat and packed too little water, and to top it off… our phone dies and we lose our trail map 😬. Luckily, the trail is clearly marked, and the views make it all worth it!

Halfway through the hike, we’re treated to a special moment — a wild stumpy-tailed (Shingleback) lizard right on the trail! 🦎 After a quick break, we continue to Silent Street, a narrow, stunning gorge that leads to the Pinnacle lookout — the trail’s highlight with panoramic views across the Grampians.

The descent is steep but beautiful, and we encounter an incredible spiny anteater and we finally reach the van, absolutely parched but proud. A cold drink and a local pub pint is the perfect end to this adventure in Grampians National Park. Cheers to the next one! 🍻

I'm a fairly experienced hiking guide and I'd never recommend going to the Grampians in late summer, better to go in spring when the waterfalls are bigger, the wildflowers are spectacular and the landscape doesn't have that parched look. BTW water from *fast flowing* creeks in hilly areas that are upstream of civilisation and farms is pretty safe to drink in Victoria and Tasmania. I've never seen anyone get even a little sick from it.

"If I could be born again a bit fitter" .... "That will get you in your gingganggoolies" two brilliant comments 😂 Well done! Looked like a beautiful but hard walk!! X

I did this walk back in January 2022 and it was a 38 degree sunny and humid day. Worst combo lol. And I finished all my water before reaching the top 😅

I'm thinking, have you bought a block of land yet. Australia needs good nice decent folks like you to make it a greater country. cheers for now

Both should be wearing hats, water for the return and the shoes should be hiking trainers not gym shoes.

You should always put sunscreen on when spending time outdoors
Every day
Even if it's cloudy

Really enjoy your videos though

Hats and sunscreen definitely needed for Aussie bush walking... Keep an eye out for snakes sunny themselves on the path.

Never heard of a hat mate?
Seriously. Ask how many Aussies how many bits of skin on exposed skin hasn't been cut or frozen off.
