Speaking as a layman bystander it seems to me that the challenger was relying on cold technique alone as if he had been forced to learn piano whereas the joy, passion and enthusiasm of Camden for playing music was apparent to me even just the way your fingers fly and dance over the keyboard is a joy to watch. Ian's playing seems more mechanical, learned and planned in touch to the listener ear. Ian's playing tells you a beautiful story. Camden's felt more compassionate, smooth and very sensitive in touch to the listener's ear. Both are fantastic pianists. Camden's playing has an emotional conversation with you.
