Gosh darn it TaylorMade. This was my dream driver as a 10 year old where I've still got my old r7 hat that I use every round. Now it looks like I'll be getting this to be my 2 wood. The nostalgia is real with this. I never thought I'd actually get emotional about a golf club

I took my GT3 and put a weight in the toe, and heel. Game changing in face stability. I can see this thing being very stable.

Why do you guys have to do this to me, Trottie? I've got a BRNR Mini, absolutely don't need this. The original R7 is what I gamed in high school, it was my first "new to me" driver (this was 2006 so I do think it had been out for 2 or 3 years at that point) after learning golf on a MacGregor Ben Hogan set of clubs that I used ages 11-15 (they're antiques now, from 1940.) When I made the golf team my dad took me to get new clubs and that driver is a big reason I golf mostly all Taylormade stuff. I remember other golfers making fun of the moveable weights in the driver as a gimmick; but I really liked the driver when I played in high school. The fact that that "gimmick" stuck around and got copied by every other brand pretty much cemented me buying a full Sim 2 set when I got back in to golf during the pandemic, and upgrading that to the Qi35s and a BRNR, and P770s over the last year. I really don't need another mini driver, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't really want this one. Why do you guys have to hit me in the nostalgia like that?

been in the market for a mini to replace my 3w, and despite being a TM loyalist, I think i'm going to go with the gt280 mini. prefer the smaller headsize and the flatter sole makes it easier to hit it off the turf

Really digging the design on this, I never owned an original R7 but a few friends had them and loved them. Personally, I was hoping for a mini driver based off the original Firesole line!

Walked into Edwin Watts, thinking I was going to get a ping three wood, but ended up giving this a try and the distance off the deck plus the confidence of the tee is just on no-brainer to replace a three wood for me. I hit my driver about 290 off the tee and hit this about 235 off the deck easily.
