I wonder if weavers shared your optimism in the 19th century when they were replaced by power looms?

In my experience AI is most useful for generating ideas. But one thing people don’t think about when it comes to this subject is arch and construction firms use visualization for much more than just “pretty images”. It is used to gain better understanding how a working drawing can/will come together when constructed in the real world. A way for designers and engineers to gain a deeper connection and intimacy with a design. And when you take the person out of that process that connection is lost. We also have to consider that architecture materializes from math and drawing into to real world places and structures. To an environment where human hands for the most part are not being replaced by AI any time soon. Those post design professionals rely on designers and artists to solve nuanced issues that AI is far from being able to communicate at this point.

Archviz has the highest risk of AI replacement of any 3D job due to all of the BIM data for each project and the fact that architectural models are very basic and require the bare minimum in terms of topology and UVs. That being said, its already a dead-end, race to the bottom job and foolish to pursue as a career unless you want to be poor. Its an oversaturated, high-overhead, low-profit industry that should be nothing more than additional skills learnt by architects, which is why software like D5 and Twinmotion are taking over.

BIM includes everything about the project. Location, climate, materials, dimensions, etc. Its a matter of time before that data can be converted to a textured model. Unlike game or film assets, there is a massive dataset for architecture to train AI on and a much lower complexity threshold.

D5 should offer a perpetual license option instead of full features subscription and free which without advance tools and features !!!!

I wanted to get into ArchViz, with traditional 3D modeling skills, but I'm now learning Houdini. This way, I might still be able to get into ArchViz, but if that doesn't pan out, I could get into other industries with Houdini skills.

It already has. I was fired because of it lol

For anyone who is scared of ai taking your job: Good luck describing it what kind of chamfer, how several complex 3d models connect with each other and more of the things our brain does in seconds. I can only see AI doing the primitive shapes and blockouts in near future. Anything else none of us will be able to afford. So there are lots of obstacles and some might even stay forever like this.

AI is definitely going to replace any archviz job. And it will happen very quickly.

AI is designed to learn from us, to learn *like* us. In terms of art and design, it will be able to do everything a human can eventually. Human artists mostly only borrow ideas from others and the world anyway ("Every artist is a cannibal, Every poet is a thief...").
But there will always be human artists and designers. Look at today: there are still portrait artists, the wealthy commission and sit for a portrait artist or photographer... until advanced robotics catches up that is .../s

It will not. ArchViz has been going more towards realtime environment building so you can walk through it and see everything yourself to get a sense of space and how it feels to be in the space. There are still of course alot of still images which get rendered, but more and more it is shifting towards realtime. AI does not even come close to doing this even halfway properly and most likely wont be able for years to come.

At this point there is zero chance for it to replace someone building up the space with accurate dimensions, the correct materials, colours of materials and furniture to compose the space that the client envisions. AI is good to get a quick but not accurate result with low effort. The goal of ArchViz is the exact opposite to that.

if your are only 3d artist you will be replaced but if you have other skills like architect or designer you probably have time. that's not an art question, it(s all about economic...

Archviz will be hit badly with AI, no matter whatever you say...

Video me Baatien chodna easy hai. AI Prompts takes a hell lot of time to generate things rather than do it in 3D software.
AI prompts does not give you motivation to create art but doing it manually does. I do not know why the fuck people are panicked.
