Minecraft was one of the most popular games in north America. They don't even get excavators, the kids just need a pick a shovel and a bucket full of water (for the lava)

Love it, when I worked for Cat and we had open days at the depot we always put on a mini digger challenge for the customers children. My son who was 5 or 6 at the time always got to try it out first. By age 9 he could dig a straight drainage ditch with a nice flat bottom using a back hoe loader. He left school and joined the Navy, so that worked

As a man who was exploited at a young age to do labour in the family construction company, I whole heartedly agree with this idea. Little kids who work in manual labour, don't have time to do drugs and mug little old ladies.. just saying

The issue is less about mining for Africans and more about the exploitation by foreign mineral brokers that pay little to nothing for their labor. If those workers were payed fairly for their labor then those children wouldn’t need to work to help feed their families. The tech companies maximize their “investor profits” (board members/executives bonuses) by using those mineral brokers that pay little, instead of lobbying those country’s governments to regulate mining and create systems that assure that workers are paid fairly and children aren’t exploited. *Kids don’t need to be exposed to toxins for you to get your cheap tech stuff. Rich people just don’t want to get paid less.*
