From a design standpoint, the magnetic contact charging port is necessary due to the location in the centre of the swivel joint. Imagine what it would take to design a hinge with a flat connector such as a USB-C. If the charging port was on the body of the light, any type of connection would work. Your comment of making it easier to waterproof was, no doubt, part of the decision process.

Love your Prepper/Camping cave.

It's a nice torch...I share the same thoughts, as you....the charging cable being Proprietary . People have the habit of misplacing / loosing their cables and this proprietary cable will make it problematic in the field. I figure a USB-C is the best option, as it can be found/ replaced in most stores.
How is the heating on Turbo setting ?

Agree. If they fix that proprietary charge port, that might be a BUY.
Make it USB C, watertight, IP68 at LEAST, and we'll see.

G'day Mark, personally not something I'd EDC, though yep ideal as a worklight.
Might be a bit heavy on the headstrap, but main thing is you can.
I'm sure not a fan of propriety cables. Though if you simply use it around the house you probably aint gonna lose it. And at least with this one you can resort to traditional charging and swap over.
All in all, not bad, I reckon it will appeal to a lotta folks.

Yep, being stuck having to charge it with their cable is a little annoying. Other than that, I think it's a cool flashlight.✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

Thanks for the review, Mark! With the magnetic tail and the angled head, this looks more like a small work light than something I'd consider for EDC, given also it's size and weight. But for smaller jobs that don't need a floodlight style illumination, it looks like it would be worth considering. And the headlamp option also increases it's usability, although I'm a little concerned about the friction fit of the clamps on the headlamp - are those plastic or metal, and any thoughts on how sturdy those seem?
