I would recommend ignorant folks here to read the difference between a republic and democracy. A country can be a democracy without being a republic. Also, many labor mps protested during their oath and said that they are talking oath under the name of the king until UK decides to be a republic peacefully and democratically. Even though the UK is not a republic, it’s still more democratic than most countries out there, including certain countries which are republic. Russia, Hungary, North Korea, India, Pakistan, most African countries comes into my mind which are republics, and yet much less democratic than the UK! And I’m not saying that UK shouldn’t be a republic, but it’s upto the citizens of UK to decide if they want to be a republic or stay constitutional monarchy. My stance here is same as those labor mps who protested. But then again, just because a country is constitutional monarchy doesn’t mean it’s not democratic. Japan is also constitutional monarchy!
