Google Sheets - Create an Interactive Task List with Timestamps

Create a to-do list in Google Sheets that formats tasks with a strike-through automatically when a checkmark is clicked and then stamps the task with today's date and time.

Thank you for this. What would the format look like if the date wasn't dependent on anything else? For instance, opening a new 'form' with a place for the date, I would like the date to automatically populate, but not change when I come back to it.

Professor, thanks for the great content. I did it here and it worked well for some time but now my sheet is replacing the timestamp values for old values. I marked the checkbox yesterday and today it returned to last week's value. Do you know why is this happening?

Is it possible to have each row that is not checked off as being complete to be copied to different tab. Say tab one being the master data tab and tab #2 sheet just showing uncompleted task. So that you could just click the different tags and have your data sorted in those tabs. All your videos very helpful thank you for the great info.

I was wondering if anyone can help me.... On 1 sheet I have a task list with a whole years worth of tasks on it (so eg 200 tasks and with how many hours each task will take in the next column)... I would like to have a new sheet for a daily task list where I can input how many hours I have available that day, and would like google sheets to automatically fill in the tasks upto the amount of time I have inputted, is this possible? Great video. Is it possible to lock a checkbox once the it has been checked? I'd like to lock the checkbox to keep the correct date.

Can you do auto summary to be reflected on the next sheet. Its like pressing Done button then the checklist will refresh and old data will be summarized on the other sheet.
