Since it stopped moving it means the bacteria died from a concentration that broke its barrier. It works. Its hand sanitizer. Germs stay on your hand after you use hand sanitizer so thats why washing your hands is preferred since the killed germs wash away

a good rule of thumb is that the hand sanitizer should stay wet for 30 seconds on your hands to be effective (as told by my chemistry teacher)

For those of you who are wondering, the things on the persons hands are called C. Elegans. They’re a type a nematode, but they are harmless. They also have similar structure to humans so they’re used in experiments a lot. I hoped this helped :)

This model organism is a C. Elegan, they are harmless and are usually used to test the safety and effectiveness of products/medicines for humans without human trials! which is whats so confusing about this video, bacteria live on your hands (and everywhere) not these little worms (although possible in the right conditions, ) so why would we need to know the effect that hand sanitizer has on c elegans (which share 30-60% similar genes to humans.) They really used the wrong model to test the effectiveness of the hand sanitizer, everyone in this comment section seems so confused by this miscommunication of what is being modeled 🤦🏻. I’m only a biomedical student but i’ve worked with these C Elegans a lot recently so its just fresh knowledge on my mind, I recommend doing your own research 💯 if you are even interested by my little comment

It doesn’t get rid of stuff as much as soap that’s why in the medical field we wash our hands going in and out of rooms with soap
