In later life, Bono entered the world of politics, becoming mayor of Palm Springs and later a Republican congressman for the state of California. Sadly, Bono's life was cut short in a skiing accident, and things just got more complicated from there. Bono had four wives during his life, and as many children. It's really just a matter of ethics regarding Cher's legal battle with Mary Bono.
Cher worked very hard in the 60s & 70s with Sonny to stay afloat and to achieve fame.
Mary had nothing to do with that whatsoever.
I don't care how rich Cher is today or if she can afford it or not--the royalties to Sonny & Cher's music belong to Cher!
And even if they didn't belong to Cher, why should Mary Bono recieve any profits before Chaz, Sonny & Cher's only child?
Say anything you want to about Cher being too greedy here...it's actually Mary Bono who is expecting a handout for somebody else's hard work.

At the time of their divorce, Cher owed Sonny 1 million dollars. So, she kept working to pay that off. Heard this long ago on a talk show - Cher said this. Anycase, it's not our business, is it? May Sonny rest in eternal peace. He died too young.

I was always a huge fan of Sonny & Cher. Death really brings out the worst in people. I understand music contracts etc but why go after pennies on the dollar when you're filthy rich? Leave the money to his kids & then wife. Nothing like failed DNA reports to shut some people up. His death was a shock, I still have the sealed TV Guide we used to get back then with Sonny on the cover.

Certainly Cher should receive royalties in the future for songs she and Sonny sang back in the day, but for Cher to fight in probate court for what is to her CHUMP CHANGE, I'm embarrassed for Cher's lack of tact and decency to Sonny's widow for dragging out the probate case. No class at all Cher. None. PS: Sonny was 62 when he died, NOT 52.

I can't believe Cher fought for Sunny's money. She has her own money. Just let his last wife keep it. It doesn't reflect well that she is doing this. When Sunny passed, Cher went to his service. She spoke about him and blubbered away like she was still married to him. I thought she was sincere. If it wasn't for him, she would not have the life she has today. She was a waitress in a coffee shop when he met her.

I could see Cher having an interest in the royalties. That's her work too. Back money owed..let it go. Suing for a million dollars? That's half his estate and taking it from Chaz. Her own child. She doesn't need the money. Why didn't she settle this while he was still breathing?
