It’s really refreshing to see the base/lower trims of cars reviewed over the top of the line ones they give you. It was a fun drive. Thank you for reviewing this 😁 hope to see more base/lower trim reviews in the everyday cars 👀🤞

As soon as you started talking about the volume knob, I immediately said "That stupid icon!" 🤣

I own a 2023 tiguan S with the third row and it helps with grade school kids trust me. For just taking kids to and from school the Tiguan is great

I have a 2024 Tiguan. S just bought it recently. It drives so smooth, so quiet accelerates. So nice breaks, exceedingly well, very happy with it.

The base model Tiguan in the UK which is the Tiguan Life and the standard engine is a 1.5 TSI inline 4 with 130hp and a 6-speed manual. A TSI 150 is also option with manual or DSG and also a 2.0 TDI 150 with a manual or automatic also. The standard European Tiguan also has a shorter wheelbase than this US version, which is called the Tiguan Allspace in the UK.

11:50 that feels as though it should be part of a 'volkswagen: das auto' meme compilation.

8:23 I feel the exact same way about the volume knob on my 2012 Tiguan, glad to know I’m not the only one and it’s still a thing on the newest model

The first model year 2018’s had throttle tuning. To the point that there was a TSB/silent recall to update the throttle mapping. So in classic VW fashion they went to the opposite extreme and Atlas’s and Tiguan’s have had touchy throttles ever since.

For that price I´ll buy it, no matter its specifications, the deal is that it will have a well performance even on the highway.

Im from Turkey and most of our cars are Euro spec. Whenever I visit, I sometimes borrow my friends Tiguan thats pretty much like the car in review (base, no sunroof, fwd) except its actually shorter (which we don't get in the US) and it is a 1.4t. Also acceleration from the lights in general are a little slower than in the US. So whenever I get off of lights, it does not skid tires. However, there have been times when I'm taking a slight incline and attempt to pass someone when I accelerate from 30 kmh, the wheels spin, even wheel hopped one time. fwiw, I had a mk6 gti (stage 1) and mk7 (stage 2), and the wheelhop on the tiguan isn't far off.

We have an SE panoramic full roof sun roof. We have the AWD but it only kicks in when you turn it on. The front screen, and all those buttons are electronic which is nice and instead of the silver on the two front doors and passenger seat is replaced with a carbon fiber trim. Once of my favorite features, the heated seats I love cooking myself with them 🤣

Just bought this car in Gray today and I love how large it is from the Mazda Cx-30 I had.I had a problem or thought it was a problem with the Radio NOT shutting off.I felt when I shut my car off and came back later I was able to turn on the radio without the FOB.I felt there has a problem being able to listen to the radio without the Fob or car being on.All the cars I owed once you shut off the car everything goes VW told me you can listen to the radio without the FOB, well I am glad I found this out since I felt I would have a battery drain.

Totally agree about the tuning, I just bought this EXACT trim and model, and I get so annoyed with the tire spin when accelerating from a complete stop lol. But I feel like for the price this car is great. Really been enjoying it and I love VW!

My sister has the unicorn Tiguan SE 4motion w/3rd row, I think they did away with the 4 motion 3rd row after 2020 or 21, but its perfect for her family of 5 they have 2 younger teens and a 3rd grader so he fits just fine back there and all of their stuff. I have a Taos fwd and I agree it is silly for the wheel spin and aggressive throttle, but its immaturity drew me in. You get used to it and learn you don't need that much pressure to move along well in them, these cars move out well around 2k rpm is the trick. The only time my car goes to 3k rpm is merging on the interstate, you just are not used to these cars and the way it delivers power.

I’ve had the same issues with throttle response in my VWs, you almost have to roll forward’s before you touch the throttle, cause from a stop it’s just so sensitive, it doesn’t make sense in a VW Tiguan, you’re supposed to drive it like a grandma, in what scenario will you need overly good throttle response from a VW Tiguan.

a bunch of girls at my high school either had these, rav4s, or ford escapes parked in the senior lot. whether they were theirs or actually their parents i'll never know, but the fact that there was so much just proves these are optimal* for new drivers to drive around with
also the complaint about the throttle mapping seems to be the same on my (grandpa's) 2022 mercedes gle350. both have 2.0L turbos and both have really sporadic throttle response from a dig.

I drove my mom’s Cayenne GTS and it had that same throttle issue. It’s much smoother, don’t get me wrong, but you still feel it. I thought it was just because it’s super powerful!

I have a 2023 Taos SE 4motion it's a solid ride with great fit and finish with the dual clutch transmission. my only complaint is the sound system, it's so bad not sure what happened. Every VW I owned had great sound system until now. So I'm upgrading it next month.

Just got a Tig w/ 4-motion after my 06 3 series finally gave out. The gas pedal even in eco is very touchy. I also had a 17 Jetta and it wasn’t as touchy as this. Maybe it’s something I still need to get used to. Other than that it seems like a solid commuter.

Finally, they're doing a review on the s. Series, not the high-end model. It's nice to see that
