Photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope clearly show that Jupiter's Great Red Spot is shrinking. The images, spanning the course of 20 years, indicate that the spot - which is actually a massive storm - is narrowing faster than ever before. Astronomers don't know why the spot is shrinking, or what will happen next.

The ability of a closed storm circulation to persist 100s of years suggests that if the GRS does disappear, we might anticipate the appearance of another similar system (Jovian hurricanes).  How cool is it that we can witness this.

Planetary weather is controlled by their magnetic fields, let me break it down for you, whoever decides to prove me right, I'd like a share of the Nobel prize money.

We know super cooled oxygen is magnetically interactive, so assume most fluids have similar properties, just like STP (Standard Temperature & Pressure).

So if planets revolving around the sun, have a magnetic field induced in their cores, then it means the strength of the suns heliosphere determines atmospheric energy.

Solar output (power) has been in steep decline, as seen with the decrease in sunspots, so naturally the magnetically-linked planets will be affected too.
