We are super lucky, our local indy bookstore is still open. They only let one or two people in the shop at a time. You can order online and they ring you when they have put it together and you can pick up or they drop it off to you. I bought up big a couple of weeks ago in preparation for autumn and winter here in Oz, lots of gothic, witchie, historical kind of things. ❤️❤️❤️📚🍷

The Lost Orphan sounds like my kinda book! (Suprise, surprise!) I had no idea that Marie Kondo had a new book out! I'm going to have to get my hands on that one. I really enjoyed her other books but don't follow it all to a tee. But her general philosophy of joy works really well for me!

Loved both The Familiars and The Foundling (The Lost Orphan) by Stacey Halls 💖 Also enjoyed The Giver Of Stars 👍🏻

I’m reading The Giver of Stars and it’s amazing I’m loving it so much, I feel as though I am there every day riding through the mountains on horseback ☺️☺️ The Scapegoat is great. I could not get into The Essex Serpent 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

Lol I find it hilarious that you were scared of The Dark Crystal and not Nimh and it was the reverse for me. Maybe it’s because I can do a really great Skeksis voice...

Oh man. I need to get my hands on The Lost Orphan. Absolutely sounds like something I want to read! I am pretty sure I'm going to read The Giver of Stars in May. Can't wait. If you haven't read it yet I'd love to read it with you.

Yes! The Scapegoat is really good. I read it 20 years ago and it is one of my favorite books by her.

The Lost Orphan also has the name of The Flounding which was a UK release last year.

What a coincidence !! I finished The Scapegoat only over this weekend. It is definitely a story about Male Form of Rebecca. Daphne du Maurier writing is as atmospheric as expected but this one still doesn’t hold a candle to Rebecca. I loved her writing though. Hope you enjoy more than I did. Have been enjoying your channel so so much :)

I read Long Bright River. It was pretty good. It’s a slow burn. I read American Predator and it was truly terrifying. I have the U.K. version for The Lost Orphan....it’s called The Foundling and I can’t wait to read it

I have read American Predator. It was good but not as intense as I expected. The Splendid and the Vile is one I am really excited to read. Erik Larson is one of my favorite authors. Several titles you mentioned I added to my list and a few others I own but I haven’t started yet. I am judging Booktube prize books right now and when I finish them I will be getting to these and many other tantalizing books!

I order from a physical bookstore that I can order from online and have books sent to me. I live quite a ways from any bookstores so I have always ordered books online.

Stay healthy!

I have the Giver of Stars on my TBR. Right now, I am loading up my Kindle with way more books than I can read, lol. I am also buying a few audiobooks through Libro.fm which benefits a local bookstore.

I'm gonna put 'American Predator' on my TBR. If it has anything to do with serial killers sign me up. Ha!!!

I really want to read more du Maurier. I've read Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel so maybe The Scapegoat is next. I've also added The Lost Orphan to my list, it sounds amazing!

I read Melmoth for the BTP last year and found it not only NOT scary but also very boring. I hope you'll like it way more than I did! 😊

I've started Elly Griffiths Mystery books about a lady forensic archeologist in the UK helping detectives etc. If you liked Nicci French i think you'd like it. So far its excellent, I love the character building and the atmosphere. Thanks for sharing books with us!
