Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S. had no prior knowledge of an attack which targeted pagers used by Lebanon's Hezbollah.

This attack is indistinguishable from a terrorist attack. Thousands of people of people unwittingly strapped with bombs all detonating at the same time? Agnostic who the holder was even around? How can you even guarantee once thousands of pagers were shipped in country that 100% of them went to hezbollah? Unsure if they were resold to an unaffiliated civilian, unsure if their kid or wife happened to be holding it at the time unsure if they were driving putting others on the road at risk, and unsure if they were even on a commercial airline or not. This is the type of terrorist attack that you would expect Bane from the Dark Knight batman movies to depict. This was an indiscriminate attack whose main purpose seems to be in only putting fear into the general population, which again, is the purpose of terrorism.

No matter what, no matter who you are targeting, no government should have the authority or power to utilize tactics like this, there's a reason we call people who use these tactics terrorists, because they don't care about the collateral damage they just care about accomplishing their objective. Its a dangerous precident that needs to be nipped in the bud, but it will probably just be talked about for a few days then forgotten about.
