I could imagine this happening at the end after brooks said “and that was the story of the boy who became the pirate king, it was an honor to be along for the journey but our time slipped away, thank you for all of the good memories Luffy and see you in another life.
Edit: thx for almost 1000 likes wow

"When do you think a person dies? When a bullet from a pistol pierces his heart? No. When he's attacked by an incurable disease? No. When he eats a soup of deadly, poisonous mushrooms? No! A man dies when people forget him."

50 Years Later
A group of young kids were playing pirates on an island.
Suddenly, one of them stopped.
"Hey, do you guys hear that?"
A faint, clear violin tune echoed from the top of a nearby cliff.
It was a familiar pirate song, long forgotten.
"Let's go check it out!" one kid shouted.
They all raced up the hill.
At the top, they found a tall skeleton with an afro, sitting alone, playing violin in front of a circle of old, weathered tombstones.
The tombstones had no names, but personal relics lay on them — a trio of swords, a slingshot, a metallic rod, a stack of books.
At the center stood a larger grave, crowned with a worn straw hat and a jolly roger flag with a skull wearing that same hat.
One boy gasped.
"Mugiwara no Luffy..."
The skeleton stopped playing, gently raised his hat, and greeted them.
"Oh, hello there."
"Did you know him? The Pirate King?" another boy asked.
The skeleton smiled sadly.
"Yes. He was my captain."
The kids stared, wide-eyed.
"You really sailed with the Pirate King!?"
"Indeed, " said the skeleton, laughing softly. "I had the honor of being his musician. Every great crew needs music!"
He spoke fondly of his old crewmates:
* The brilliant cyborg shipwright
* The troubled yet kind archaeologist
* The tiny raccoon-dog doctor
* The loyal marksman and the foxy thief
* The hotheaded cook and the world's greatest swordsman
* And their fearless captain, the spirit who carried them all to the end.
A gentle wind tousled their hair.
The skeleton looked out toward the sea.
"I miss them all very much, " he whispered.
Suddenly, a whale's song echoed from the ocean below.
A massive whale with scars across its forehead surfaced, spraying mist into the air.
The skeleton laughed warmly.
"Yohoho! How about a song? This one's Laboon's favorite."
(Soft violin music begins to play: Bink’s Sake

50 Years Later

A group of young kids were playing pirates on an island.
Suddenly, one of them stopped.
"Hey, do you guys hear that?"

A faint, slow tune — not music, but whistling — drifted on the wind, coming from the top of a nearby cliff.
It carried an old pirate melody, one almost lost to time.

"Let’s go check it out!" one kid shouted.
They all raced up the hill.

At the top, they found a man sitting cross-legged in front of a circle of old, weathered tombstones.
He wore a red vest, now sun-bleached and frayed with age. A worn straw hat rested in his lap. His black hair was streaked with silver, and his scarred face was weathered, but unmistakable.

He was whistling softly, looking out at the sea.
Around him, the graves bore no names, but tokens lay on each:
A trio of swords.
A blue kimono, folded with honor.
A slingshot beside a pair of goggles.
A cigarette case and a broken lighter.
A tiny hat and a doctor's bag.
A metallic arm and a toolbox.
A dusty archaeology book wrapped in twine.
A violin, resting silently by one grave.

At the center was the largest stone, bearing a jolly roger with a skull wearing a straw hat.

One boy gasped.
"No way... That’s Monkey D. Luffy."

The man turned and gave them a tired, gentle smile.
"Yo."

"You're still alive?!" another boy asked, eyes wide.
"You’re the Pirate King!"

Luffy chuckled — the same laugh from stories, though softer now.
"Yeah… I guess I am."

"Did you really sail with all of them? The Straw Hats?"

Luffy looked at the graves and nodded.
"They were my crew. My family."

He grew quiet for a moment.
"They lived full lives. Fought for what they believed in. Laughed until the end. I got to see it all. Every moment."

"Why… why are you still here?" one of the kids whispered.

Luffy’s smile faded just a little.
"A friend… gave up everything to make sure I’d keep going. Even when they couldn’t."

He touched the brim of his straw hat.
"Now I remember for all of them. That was our promise."

A breeze rolled in from the ocean. Suddenly, a whale surfaced below the cliff — massive, scarred, singing a deep, mournful song.

Luffy stood, eyes shining, wind in his hair.
"Hey, Laboon. You came back again, huh?"

The kids stood silent, watching history in the flesh.

Luffy looked at them and grinned.
"You wanna hear a song? My crew used to love this one."

He raised the straw hat above his head — like a toast to the sky.

(Soft whistling begins: “Bink’s Sake.
