Yes yes yes!!! Well done. It's 100% right. I'm in my late 50's and met David in Southampton while he played with Tin Machine. I asked him this exact question about his eyes. He gave me this exact answer. He is the only celebrity I've ever met....and he was so down to earth and easy to talk to. He spent 20 mins with me and two of my friends. We printed their promotional literature at a printers in Romsey in 1999 or 98. I don't remember. But I really met him and genuinely asked about his eyes.
A tragic loss. He chain smoked the whole time I saw him. Legend. I am blessed to have been in the presence of greatness

I have studied album covers and had really good seats at concerts, and I believe they appear to be different colors, but he was born with blue. Either way, they are the most fascinating eyes I've ever seen.

No. First of all how can you scratch someone’s eye from punching them. He was hit in the eye and it severed the muscle that dilates your pupil yes, but it was more like a burst behind his eye than a scratch on the surface of his eye.
