2. Add folder you want to gain permission (in this case system32)
3. Click on 'TAKE OWNERSHIP'

Some comments say it didn't work for them, it did work for me, so at least give it a try. Just make sure the 'Full Control' tick is showing and the correct User has the Full Control. You can find your user name by Step 1. Press the Windows Key and R [Step 2]. Type cmd [Step 3]. Press Enter [Step 4]. Type whoami and then press Enter [Step 5]. The result should show your Username

THANK YOU so much. This was far more straight forward than any of the damned advise from other users on forums which seem so braindead about "security" that they cannot recommend giving users full access to their own system folder. Sometimes Windows Updates are totally fucked and you have to make manual work arounds in your system. This has saved me a lot of headache trying to get passed that permission wall.

Try your mail address( 0:32 ) instead of your name that you have authorized to Microsoft Account. I was having a problem but when I used my Microsoft mail, problem solved.

Oh thank god for you. Was driving me crazy not being able to paste my nvcamera64dll into the repository. Googled everywhere and finally got the dll but then windows wouldn't give me permission. Windows 10 is a pile of shite. I've had nearly 30 blues screens of death just trying to get an Nvidia GPU installed on a new image. They've had 30 years to get it right and they're getting it more wrong than ever. Looking into the system it seems most of its instability is based on Microsoft constantly snooping and interfering with normal processes.
