Fix THIS to swim SMOOTHER

For smooth freestyle swimming is crucial to do relaxed arm recovery. For this, rotate your shoulder during arm recovery. This will help you to swim faster and smoothly. It is a common mistake when people do not rotate their shoulders during arm recovery.

Rotation is super important using either style of freestyle( shoulder-driven or hip-driven). Having that high elbow allows for better recovery and rotation. Great Tip!

Indeed, this is one of the number one ways to identify a top swimmer over an ordinary one at lane swimming.

Thanks! I’ve wondered if I’ve done my arm rotations wrong and now I have my answer!

Thank you. Someone videoed me 'swimming' yesterday and I was flapping about all over the place. 🙈 I know better now!

Good tip so many teachers focus on a "high elbow". Well guess what, you can't achieve a high elbow without a high shoulder

I have not been rotating. And didn’t occur to me that was required. Thank you very much.

Need to have my spouse video me swimming but I think the area is a no camera/video zone 😢
I have bicep pain on my left arm. Maybe bc I don't rotate enough to get that high of an arch?
I will correct my form and see how it goes.
TY for the tip.

You made a big mistake! When pulling the arm under water back, always bend the elbow slightly that avoids unneccessary tension on the elbow ankle. Keyword: Golfers ellbows

La rotación del hombro es consecuencia de la rotación de cadera. No al revés.

I keep cramping under my knee cap and down into my calves. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? This continues to happen. I’m training for a half Ironman, and this cramping is the lone issue holding me back! I can do the ride, the half marathon, but I am always cramping in the pool. No matter if I don’t kick or kick very minimally. I’ve been pulled to shore and completed races. So worried about getting into the water for this reason, and I absolutely love swimming!
