I have changed the fuel filter housing and the EGR plus the intake manifold cleaning DIY thanks to you, was not a easy job but with your help and taking my time job well done.

I hate the direction that MB have taken. You'll know as well as I do, a V6 CDi can be disconnected, lifted/manhandled out of a W211 or 221 in a matter of a few hours. These units are a nightmare in comparison.

Hi, question. My vehicle needs timing chain replaced. How do I know my guides need to be changed too? I know In the video you found a piece of the guide but what if you haven’t found a piece. Will the vehicle not run if guides are broken? Also, if it’s not the guides and I replace timing chain, would it be a case where guides will break eventually?

Great video and good advice, mine went but I caught it early and had the chain and tensioner done. Any idea why they wear out on these?

What year did they upgrade the chain tensioner as the older ones have two oil holes. New ones have 4? The new ones stopped the chain issue I heard? I'm just wondering weather to get the upgraded tensioner.. or of my mercedes already has the upgraded one in?

I used to do similar repairs on BMW's years ago but never done a Merc. A friends failed recently causing the engine to cut out and not start. I'm about to whip out the engine.

Might have to ge tthe head sent off...
