As a fellow Texan I can confirm. Nobody lives past the tree line around Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. It extends across the whole US. Though it curves a bit.

In Texas we have 95% of land as private ranches farm land ect we don’t have a lot of public land and that’s why west Texas looks like there is nothing there because it’s private property that the owners go out to have fun on

West Texas is mostly desert that’s why nobody lives there when you travel from say Houston Texas to Arizona you can literally watch the trees shrink all the way until they turned to brush and then start turning into cactuses it’s an amazing sight to see

West Texas is where a lot of oil rigs are and I can say that south Texas is not just vast plains but many small towns

As a San Antonio native, everyone lives in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston and some in corpus. It takes 9 hours from San Antonio to drive to El Paso, yeah it's a big state.

West Texas gave me such creepy vibes driving through at night once I got to New Mexico I felt so relieved no idea why

Yes well Americans stopped moving "west" and started coming almost exclusively to California for about a century. They skipped right passed most western states so that while California is overflowing with people, the states in-between are only now barely in recent years starting to fill up. A lot of Californians doing the "backwash".

Wow. That's amazing. Just five percent makes such a huge difference. I wonder if another five percent would make much difference?

I live here in West Texas, I actually like that their isn’t many people out here. We like the peace and quiet we have. Course the Animals make a bit of noise out here and sometimes a party get to going too. Lots of room to live. Have a great week.

As a Texan myself, I can validate this information as true, obviously there are small towns across the state, with what I like to call small townism. Personally I live about 30 minutes outside of the Great City of Dallas Tx, my views on the city vary wildly from my neighbors, that is that I love big city’s. Most of the land in Texas is owned by either smaller family owned ranches and land or huge swaths of land owned by oil rich ranchers. I would consider my town to country, that is that 25% of the men have mullets, long before they became popular again. My small town is growing exponentially as more and more people move to it. The small town charm is disappearing quickly, so some more country minded people are moving to smaller and smaller towns. This is caused by many reasons race, money, and the price of land. Thanks for reading my two cents on this topic
