That is such a relatable thing for anyone who has ever spent time as a tech. You can almost always tell when it doesnt hit the ground by the sound.. then starts the 20min quest for the socket that somehow finds the black hole hiding in every engine bay

Always the 10mm!!! Ask any mechanic. Either side of the pond. It's always the 10mm!😂

The dreaded undercarriage cover. Like a black hole, nothing can escape it, not even light. 😭

Newer car have an incredible amount of nooks & cranny's. The neighbors cat crawled into one to stay warm on a winters night. It died near the fresh air intake laid there until it started to stink of decomposition & until I tore everything outta the way and found it REST IN PEACE POOR POOR KITTY.

I hate when that happens, land right in the splash shield! The worst is when it gets stuck in between the radiator and AC condenser, and you can't leave it in there because of a rubber hole in them!😂😂😂😂😂

That is why I allways make sure my expensive socket sets are full when I finish a job, the expensive tools are only used on special jobs, otherwise the cheap Harbour freight tools are used.

I've actually found 10mm tools in my engine compartment where a mechanic must have dropped years prior. Good Ole 10mm😅

Well I mean you got the camera down there so you should have no problem getting the socket out. 😂

Lmao my status on the Honda forum back in the day was “looking for a 10mm” 😂😂😂😂😂

I can tell by the sound it made when it stopped that its under the radiator in the core support. 👍

If you don't find it, its probably hanging out under a serpentine belt right next to a pulley. Or dropped into that empty spark plug hole. These things have a way of destroying your day.

It used to fall out of bottom most of time on older cars. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

POV you are looking for your 10mm socket but you have literally everything there apart from the 10mm (one day later) oh there is the bloody 10mm I was looking for yesterday 😂

😂

I still have a 10mm socket under my Crosstrek's center console, from when I was pulling the dash out last year.

Then it falls out and through the windscreen of the car behind! 😂

Use to do this in my sea doo jet ski every year when I needed to remove the battery.
