Found a way to get Raphael's armor within 1st hour of game // Baldur's Gate 3.
BG 3 has a great character customization system which includes: BARBARIAN, BARD, CLERIC, DRUID, FIGHTER, MONK, PALADIN, RANGER, ROGUE, SORCERER, WARLOCK, WIZARD and other subclasses, races & backgrounds. Baldurs Gate 3 has a great alchemy crafting system, spells & actions, illithid powers & cantrips. Weapon Proficiency is related to your class. Answer: Complete the Grove quests before going to Mountain Pass.
2. I've brought Raphael's hit points down to zero. Yet he doesn't die. What's going on?
Answer: You are supposed to knock him down with non lethal attack, not to kill him.
3. Will it be patched?
Answer: Most probably YES.

This works really well, just remember:
Take out goblin camp first
Save before you start attacking him
Be as quick as possible because silence can end

Still works as of Jan.14th, you get the XP and armour. Also you can keep knocking him out for 130-200 gold.

If you are outhbreaker there is a way to make this work.
First you need to cast minor illusion to distract outhbreaker knight and talk to him with your MC so he stay away from Raphael and don't choose any dialogue.
Then you can cast silence and knock it with you other party members. After you loot raphael Move your MC and party member that knocked out raphael away from raphael or he will hostile.

Consider using the metamagic option when casting silence so that it lasts twice as long

best way to do this is to get that tadpole power (dont remember the name) that lowers an enemy's stat by one when you damage it (the stat you used to damage it) and use a dex based weapon. every time you attack you lower his dex and his ac will slowly disappear making it really easy to land consecutive hits.

If you are planning to do this as an oathbreaker, you need to do this trick BEFORE you break your oath so as not to spawn the oathbreaker knight in your camp. Trick Still works as of last night but you might want to finish grove quests if you wish. If you are doing this as a vengeance paladin you can still go back to the goblin hideout, talk to the draw and tell her the location of the Grove to break your oath after you’ve done the trick.

Even with no lethal damage, after hitting 0 hp he just disappeared. I even gained some exp and leveled up, but no armor.

I've never taken the mindflayer sample from Nettie and he always spawns there, I don't even think you need to talk to Nettie at all for him to spawn. There's also another place where Raphael can spawn inside the goblin camp. It's inside the old Selune temple when you go up on the rafters.

IF YOU WANT TO SAVE TIEFLINGS
1. Do all the quests and etc you want there.
2. Rush Goblin leaders
3. Optional if you want to do Shadow Druid quest do that also

If you want Minthara romance and s*x then rush to kill every one in the grove.

Then just go to Mountain Pass and progress the game as you want.

You dont need to ambush raphael, just make sure you dont trigger the scene with him. If it triggers, reload and find another way to your destination. I managed to do chapter 1 without encountering Raph, and when I proceed to the Mountain Pass he will be there in your camp at night. Also if you kill Wyll and keep his body in the trunk after the scene with Wyll accepting Karlach. This will never trigger the Mizora event, which will cause Mizora to pop up in the camp as well. So kill her too, and it will prevent Wyll to be turned into the devil and there will be no more Mizora quest.

Just tried it and it still works. Had karlach chuck her returning pike at him with shadowheart concentrating silence, then meleed him at 15 hp. just make sure you enter turn-based mode right after you knock him out because he gets back up a few seconds after getting knocked down. he will have 1 hp and nothing changes, but looting him will be interupted.

and after getting his armor, you can talk to him and continue the interaction completely normally (he's just gonna be bruised af during the convo xD)

Still works as of 9/10/2024. Knocked him out twice to get the 1400 xp (for some reason I didn't get it the first time). He stands up fast so click him and then press space straight after to take everything before he gets up.

Woohoo... combine this with Command Drop on the Githyanki in the mountain pass and you'll have a great outfit for Lae'zel.

I have done this for my honor mode playthrough and now feel so much better about my odds had Raphael show up in the under dark but interrupted his conversation all the same
