How to Make a Bar Graph in Excel

In this video I’ll be showing you how to make a bar graph in Excel. You can make a bar graph using the Quick Analysis options. This allows you to take your selected data and create a bar graph out of it. Alternatively, you can select the data and switch to the Insert tab. From here you can choose to insert a bar graph using your data. With the bar graph option selected you will have several options to choose from.

Once you have made your bar graph you can adjust what is shown on your bar graph using the Chart Elements options. Additionally, you can use the style and color options to change what your bar graph looks like.

If you want to make the bar graph bigger or smaller then you will need to select the graph and drag in or out one of the corners. Dragging the corner out will make the bar graph bigger, while dragging inwards will make the graph smaller. Additionally, you can click and drag on the graph itself to move it to the position that you want it.

You can change the color of the bar graph by selecting the element that you want to change and switching to the Format tab. From here you will need to click the Format Selection button to open the side panel. From here you can adjust certain elements of your bar graph, such as the color. In order to change the color you will need to select the Fill & Line options then select the bar graph.
