Honestly, that’s a relatively good fate for Kanako. The spoon amalgamate clearly still has a functioning mind and body, plus kindness to boot. Definitely better than the suffering ones.

Keep in mind amalgamate overworld sprites DO NOT reflect actual appearance, with the exception of Endogamy. Kanako almost certainly looks roughly the same as she did before melting.

as i said before, i wish there was a refference to kanako in undertale RaY. like after the amalgamate tucks you in and you get out of the bed clover would say something along the lines of: "now i know what feeling ceroba was talking about", because if i remember correctly in UTY ceroba said she felt kanako's presence

Before you point to undyne the undying when Garo says that monsters don’t have the mass to handle determination, remember that when the fallen monsters where injected with determination they didn’t instantly start melting. I doubt alphys would make entries minutes apart, so maybe it took like hours or days before the melting actually begins, and the reason undyne the undying melts after a fight is because she took large amounts of damage.
