In this video I just wanted to focus on all the different variants of the console in both it's Japanese and USA form and also PAL

There are so many different console setups you can go for so thought you may find it useful if you've never had one or if you were thinking about getting one maybe

I also share a few memories of my experience with the console and show a few games that you can get

Hope you enjoy a ride back the the glory days of brilliant 2D gaming on the glorious PC Engine

Thanks for watching

Please like, subscribe and comment with your thoughts on the console

Pc engine for me is the most exotic console of all time 💚i have been playing since near enough day dot and is one console I could not live without, superb games on hucards & disc.
Luckily i worked in a import specialist shop as a kid which introduced me to the Japanese gaming world of gorgeous games, consoles and artwork.Stunning vid and well explained for people who was wasn’t in the know.👊🏻👍🏻✌️

This is a great documentary video brother. Dont recall anyone ever describing the differences of color on the case to indicate what type of cd or card is in the case

Well done

Nice share with the PCE collection, great insight for new collectors regards the hardwares 👍
I did same regards selling all my PCE stuff in the mid 90's, it was a big regret of mine.
I started recollecting for the PCE a few years back now(in 2012), only HuCards and systems tho. and l still got most of those games... well apart from selling a few here and there.
I've put up a few vids on various import retro game stuff on my channel over the past years.
I still love most of the JPN retro 8, 16 & 32bit games stuff still, was golden era ✌

I am getting more and more into PC Engine. Even though I'm trying not to.🤣
It was always a console I saw in the magazines but never out and about.
My first hands on experience was getting the new old stock turbografx PAL system and an ever wow it was incredible... but silly me sold it as I thought emulation would be enough. Well it's not and I'm getting back Into it. Probably one of my biggest collectibg regrets

I Currently have 4 systems. Including a PAL PC engine (officially modded in the 80s) but not many games, as I opted for the everdrive rout again.

But I'm starting to really crave more games and think it will be my system of choice in 2022.

Can't wait to see a collection video of yours, see what games I.might have missed out on 👌👌👌

It cost me a bomb finishing off the collection of the games I wanted but glad I've got 'em all now, give or take about 5 I've since stumbled upon.

Great video James.

I think I'm roughly the same age as you and I can remember seeing all the hype in C&VG back in the day and the screenshots used to blow me away. It wasn't until 1990 that I saw one in person and the games running.

I think I bought my first one at the turn of the century and it was a white PCE with a scart lead coming out of the side that has been modded for RGB and was bought off ebay in the early days. Though it was a time when if I couldn't burn or play games as copies I never really got into it despite wanting one since my teens. I also if I recall had a bunch of hucard games that I got from a Cash Convertors around 96/97, imagine seeing hucards in a CC now a days lol I then bought one again in the early 2000's this time a Turbo Express from Telegames and it came with a convertor to play JP games and a copy of TV Sports Football and was new old stock so was mint in box. I hardly used it and then sold it for some stupid low price like an idiot many years ago. So basically early days with the system are quite hazy and didn't really start till the late nineties.

Though fast forward to now and I've got a couple of PCE's, a white model and a boxed CG along with a Duo R. I still don't have a lot of games for it as they're so expensive so I use an Everdrive.

I just think the system has a cool mystic around it even now that the other consoles of the time simply don't have. The nearest I say that comes close in that regard is the Neo Geo.

Take it easy mate.

That was really interesting. I knew very little about the pc engine / super grafx and funnily enough that was from reading a magazine whist in France back in the early nineties; I was fascinated by all these consoles I’d never heard of (there was some content on the neo geo and I remember being shocked by the prices 😁).

The card thing (eg needing the arcade card for some games) confuses me a bit; was it adding extra ram somehow? I’d have thought the cds would have more memory than the cards so it must be helping in some other way.

I’ve a mini console but confess have never used it!!!

Another fun vid buddy! Roll on 100 subs!!!

I see Analogue Pocket has an adapter for it and I think it plays the Everdrive clone from Ali-Express.

Great video mate i have the pc engine and cd add on inside the case but don't have many games for it. I was very dissapointed with the golden axe cd the game was terrible but there are loads of great games for it 😊👍
