This song came to my mind recently and I shared it with Sr. Fran. She is 91 and she remembered it too. I’m only 77 and I learned it when I was a young Sister playing a guitar. I know it by heart and mean it with all of my heart when I sing it!

Another evergreen from my youth! We sang this often as an offertory hymn. Your choir has taken a beautiful, yet simple hymn and given it new life! Thank you so much! Just hearing these hymns again gives me hope that we can bring these beautiful classics back to the church. Clearly, the hardcore traditionalists will not accept them so readily but most of us who should be focusing on the internals instead of the externals of the mass will be touched by the joy that these hymns bring to our hearts. Not all masses should be celebrated as a funeral. i love the mass in its extraordinary form as the hardcore traditionalists do, but I also love the style of the folk mass as well because it fills my heart with such happy memories of going to mass with a hat and veil, yet incorporating a joyful feeling instead of looking down all the time and perceiving God as someone inaccessible and intangible. Not all traditionalists are like this but a great many think it's disrespectful if you bow the wrong way, take communion in your hand, go to confession face to face, or sing a lively animated him with joy! There is nothing disrespectful about expressing joy! It draws me nearer to the Lord and our Lord was very charismatic and dynamic! God Bless You and Thank You! How about resurrecting "Whatsoever You Do"?
