It’s amazing how they got the actual “performance” in one take and the takes 2 and 3 were discarded

2:36 John carries on playing and ringo makes sure he plays him out with the drums. God I love how ringo was always just there listening and making sure his drums were playing for whatever the other 3 were doing

Band and multi-cultural audience together. The absolute best of the Sixties. The older I get, the more I miss those days. Sure, there were great problems back then, but the one thing we don't have today is hope. I miss the Beatles so much.

There was something unearthly cosmic heavenly I can’t even find a word to describe the magic that happened when these four men joined together to make music. They are just are no words. It’s a miracle that it happened in our lifetime. It will never happen again. I love The Beatles.❤️

I never tire of watching footage of The Beatles that I've never seen before. This is precious and I thank you.
One of the most attractive features of The Beatles was their wonderful, irreverent sense of humour and it's exemplified here with their deliberately incompetent renditions of the David Frost theme tune (which I believe was composed by George Martin. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
There are moments here which anticipate the legendary Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show sketch with André Previn. Delicious!

Finally, some music that doesn't all sound the same. If you look closely, the Beatles, like other bands of the era, have a sense of humor in every one of their recordings. I think it's because there's something unnatural about having a recording crew surrounding a group of friends playing instruments and repeat the same scene twenty times to get it right; it was a way of humanizing the scenes. Nowadays, every music video or TV show has an air of seriousness and self-importance, which makes you think that the most normal thing is to have a camera or recording crew in front of you.
PS, that gag about playing the same rhythm every time the interviewer introduces them is like an omen.

What a special time it must have been to be able to celebrate such talented individuals

10:46 I haven’t seen this take in over 15 years. I used to watch it on YouTube everyday after school. I don’t know where you found this but seeing this is so nostalgic. I remember I used to have a crush on the blonde 14:26 and the brunette 16:21. I don’t know where you found this footage but thank you for posting. I’m saving this so I don’t have to wait another 15 years. Oh the memories. 😢

can you imagine how sad it'll be watching this video after the last beatle passes away?

Paul is effortless on the piano. Flutters all over the keys like a butterfly, and it's aggravating as hell. 😝

It's odd because Paul didn't think this could be a single and John insisted it be recorded and released as a single (full 7 plus minutes).
George Martin said..."They would never play it on the radio"...John said "Oh yes they will. We're the Beatles".

These guys represented the very peak of humanity's musical, cultural and artistic achievement. How or why is anyone's guess. Although they are now a part of the past, I'm just glad that I was fortunate enough to see it all happen when it happened.

At 21:00 - the only version where we actually see Paul singing "better, better ... wow"

As an old person who has loved the Beatles since I was 8 yrs old. The longer you live life becomes about losing all that you loved. It all eventually becomes a memory.

I couldn’t have done these reconstructions and remasters without viewers like you all, and it’s greatly appreciated!! My question is: Where did you guys find my video? Featured Videos? Search Results? Linked on a Web Page? Feel free to let me know. More Beatles and other 1960’s rock content coming soon!!!!🎉🎉🎉

The Beatles hired Michael Lindsay-Hogg to shoot promotional clips for "Hey Jude" and "Revolution", after he had previously directed the clips for "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" in 1966.[122][123] For "Hey Jude", they settled on the idea of shooting with a live, albeit controlled, audience.[124] In the clip, the Beatles are first seen by themselves, performing the initial chorus and verses, before the audience moves forward and joins them in singing the coda.[125] The decision was made to hire an orchestra and for the vocals to be sung live, to circumvent the Musicians' Union's ban on miming on television, but otherwise the Beatles performed to a backing track.[126] Lindsay-Hogg shot the clip at Twickenham Film Studios on 4 September 1968.[127] Tony Bramwell, a friend of the Beatles, later described the set as "the piano, there; drums, there; and orchestra in two tiers at the back."

Imagine ordinary folk being allowed to get this close to a top band today.
