Hey, I managed to film a load of content over the weekend that I will be drip feeding out at 2-3 videos a week once edited. If you have any video requests though, do let me know :)

It is the constant struggle between being foolish enough to think your work deserves to be paid for and humble enough to distinguish where you need to improve and get better. It is a thin line to walk through to avoid either hubris or self-hatred. I think this is one of the main causes of mental health issues with artists.

Yes, I have to keep reminding myself that not every customer is going to like me. I have to make my peace with that. I also have to try and accommodate to their needs and wants instead of mine.

Much truth in this video! Applies to not just photographers, but all freelancers. Am a professional Production Sound Mixer myself, but almost every word you said is totally applicable to my life as well.

The developing your ‘taste’ aspect is such a well put way of describing progression, outside of refining technical ability. I’m still early on in both but I’ve found trying to emulate shots from photographers I enjoy, and those doing well commercially, has been a great way to advance my understanding of both sides.

Awesome video, love it. Would love to hear more about more the mindset, knowing how to level up skills so to speak. Every dude with either a rubbish or top of the line camera thinks they're a rockstar, but using the tools you have to squeeze out the most you can.

In really enjoying your content, it’s slowly but increasingly encouraging me to trust myself enough to start doing some paid work. Subbed, thank you!

I completely feel that "I'm here, I was there, and now this is where I'm trying to get to"; always working at it. Definitely a long way from being hired haha, but patience is a virtue.
