That 99mph’er looked like a wiffle ball!

He’s been fantastic the last 2 weeks. When he’s feeling it he’s borderline unhittable.

How the hell do you hit that 2nd pitch? That thing had a mind of its own. Lmao

I’ll never forget Kelly’s 2018 postseason run with Boston. Dude was absolutely electric

Forget the knuckle curve....the run on that two -seamer was SICK.... that pitch was in the strike zone and ended on his jock strap

Stuff is important and impressive. Command makes you a good pitcher. The first one wasn't good location or movement. The sinker was because of a bad release point resulting in a ton of spin and a random location that happened to be effective. In between those 2 pitches, he threw 3 other pitches to spit on and 2 meat balls.

If this dude had like 10% control on any of his pitches he’d be the best reliever in baseball

If Joe Kelly ever had the command of Greg Maddux or even Pedro Martinez, he would have had the same kind of career! He has such a lively arm! The ball literally jumps out of his hand

He has that wind-up because he has tremendous arm speed. I had a similar cadence in highschool because my arm speed was faster than my upper body mechanics. My coach played for the Mets, and he improved my delivery and control just by delaying my left leg so my pitch synced with my throwing arm. A 95 mph knuckle curve is insane. A 2 seamer with 22" break is crazy, too.
