Cowboy Carter is a Cinematic Masterpiece. It Topped the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 as well as multiple Billboard Country Charts. However the album itself received little to no airplay on Country Radio. To say that the album was snubbed is an understatement.

To be clear, It’s not about Beyonce needing their approval. It’s about equity when it comes to criteria CMA voters have when choosing what gets nominated and what doesn’t. Considering how huge the Texas Hold ‘Em record was, and how long the album charted in the top 10, it seems that there are two things happening: either CMA voters are just hating on Beyonce or they are truly out of touch with what is resonating with today’s consumers of country music.

Beyoncé made sure to tell everyone that it wasn’t a country album- that it was a Beyoncé album. Why would the CMA’s acknowledge her album after that? especially when she’s not a country artist she’s likely never going to make another country album because she doesn’t care about country music and the only people who really liked her album were Beyoncé fans. She’s not country her music‘s not country. Her album wasn’t country. Let her get a Grammy for it. She doesn’t deserve a CMA. And sunny Dolly didn’t pass the baton by thumbs up Beyoncé cover of her song. That’s not passing the baton. Ok? Lol
