Thanks to our friends in Singapore for sharing a little extra info on the gum situation! Chewing gum isn't technically illegal, but selling it and spitting it out is. Since 2004, under the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, pharmacists and dentists can actually sell “therapeutic” gum, including standard sugar-free gum. But heads up: if you toss that gum on the ground, you're still going to get a hefty fine!
