YOU ARE A GOD SEND !! I have the exact same problem. Repair man can't get out for 2 weeks, and that's WITH a home warranty so I got a replacement part, watched a couple videos and thought it would be a simple !!! Now I will be putting everything back together and waiting. I will never buy another LG product, and as you know this was NOT a cheap expense !!

Another satisfied Fix It Now customer. Thank you for your video. I do NOT have the handy dandy tabs. I, too, thought I was going crazy. LOL! I was able to get the top off with help from my husband and no curse words. Scraping and sanding the rust from the bleach dispenser area was a pain, but it had to be done. I am waiting for the appliance paint to dry. I will be doing laundry in a day or two. Yay!

It was great to finally find a video showing how to disassemble this piece o' crap machine. Mine's an LG 1201C, and this seems to be the same model. I was trying to get the tub out (needs massive cleaning - yuck), so I was disappointed that you didn't post the next video you mentioned. Although I'm still super grateful for this one. I think the issue might be that the large hex nut in the center needs to be removed? Will try tomorrow. I unscrewed all 12 of the nuts around the tub, but the tub won't budge. Plus I sliced open my bloody knuckles on the unreasonably sharp edge of the tub as I wrestled with the nuts.

My son and I each got on the side (after 2 screws are removed) Lift the back and push forward, came off very easy!

everything about this was great EXCEPT the part you left out about removing the control panel screws. I didn't thing that was necessary since I was taking the whole top off
