Book Goblin remains incredibly relatable.

I call this exact feeling a "story hangover". The story is over but I'm not ready to move on yet.

"How did you like it?"

"Hahahaha" that is the best response to that question

I knew a man who had a chemical allergy, and being exposed to fragrance made him lose his memory. He was grateful to be able to read The Lord of The Rings for the first time, twenty times!

I feel Book Goblin 😭 And to all people with siblings and this problem do not ask them, they'll wait for you with a bat to make you forget 😂😂😂

I feel you, Book Goblin. There's something almost tragic about finishing a good book, for this reason.

That's one of the reasons Agatha Christie is my all-time favorite author. She plays fair with the reader, but she's so clever and intricate in how she lays out her clues in her mysteries, that you don't usually understand what they mean at first (if you even notice them at all). So on the first read-through, you're usually blindsided by who the culprit is, and/or their motivation. Then when you re-read the book, all those clues that you were unaware were significant suddenly spring out at you. It makes the second go-around just as fun as the first, but in a different way. I have yet to read a book by another author that manages that.

This account has taught me to ask: Book Goblin loved it, but would Book Goblin recommend it?

Book goblin's book hangover is so relatable, down to the distressed goblin noises 😂 that was me after A Little Life, no cap

I actually like knowing what's going to happen in rereading books I like. I get excited to visit the best bits again. Also the lower anxiety of knowing the path ahead.

I know that feeling. So many pieces of media that I wish I could experience for the first time again.

I feel this one. Time to walk around and think about the story over and over.

This is a problem for every book, movie, game, etc we’ve experienced. Especially our favorites.

It’s why people will delete their game before it’s done and replay it able to catch things they missed before. Sometimes the gamer never finishes the game because of it. (😅)

But in the end we all wish we could relive the emotions we had the first time we found something we love.

Those pesky spoilers, always ruining the second (or third) read.
