Xbox Game Pass Cloud on Linux - A Quick Set Up Guide

Decided to make a quick how-to guide in response to a viewer's question. We're installing and configuring Microsoft Edge to steam games through the Xbox cloud service.

Terminal command to install the Microsoft Edge flatpak: flatpak install microsoft edge

Thank you kindly for the video brother, good to see Linux users have access to cloud gaming. However, considering I switched from Windows to Linux because they were trying to thread on me with MS Edge, I just could never do it. I'd rather never game again. But that's my personal beef. I'm happy this can be accomplished and I think you provided a very coherent guide to get people set up in the most direct path. To bad this is not more common knowledge, as the quick answer to searching for playing Xbox GP on Linux leads one to believe it's impossible. I know Linux is a competitor, but I'm surprised there has not been more collaboration on the part of MS and Steam to cater to a group of computer users they will otherwise never have access too. Cuz ain't no Linux user switching to Windows or Mac unless they have no other option.

To be honest, I found most games to be working more smoothly on web then in the app. Even when I was in Win11, I preferred to play on web instead of the app. Anyway, great video and very detailed on how to setup.

i cannot get my xbox controller to connectbut great vid
just though would try on laptop that just put linux mint on all mostly worked apart from the terminal cammand for controller which used same cammand on steam deck when putting xbox cloud

Is it necessary to change the developer settings in the Edge browser and set the user agent to Windows 10/11? I have a very pixelated display under Linux Mint

Talking about transfare save. there is an auto script converter of save files. I did use it for palworld a month ago. So you can transfare if you want. I cant remember what it was called. Just putting it out for you there. Save converter something

any reason why you chose to go with flatpak instead of the native debian applications? doesn't flatpak slow things down?

I can get the edge on Kali to recognize my gamepad correctly now. Before, the controller's analog sticks will just move the mouse.
However, running Geforcenow via browser still won't recognize the gamepad.

I was able to play on Ubuntu 22.04 with Chrome browser. Is this tutorial obsolete?
