Robert Wyatt´s comment: „This project is great for my sense of still being alive , knowing that these brilliant young musicians look my way for a moment. Please thank them from me. They have my profound gratitude .“
„No other young jazz-band in the last years in Germany has caused such a stir as Max Andrzejewski’s “Hütte“ [Hut]“ says the acclaimed music critic Wolf Kampmann. The Berlin based band HÜTTE won the Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis 2013, released three albums - partly featuring a vocal ensemble - and played international tours, e.g. at Eurojazz Mexiko, International Jazz Festival Nicaragua, Managua Jazz Festival Guatemala, Honduras, Jazz Fesival El Salvador, Südtirol Jazzfestival (IT), Enjoy Jazz Festival Heidelberg, Umbria Jazz (IT), April Jazz National Concert Hall Dublin (IR), J.O.E. Festival Essen, Just Music Festival Wiesbaden, Jazz Units Berlin, Jazztage Regensburg, NueJazz Festival Nürnberg, KLAENG Festival Köln and many more. Recently they staged a commission work for Leipziger Jazztage in co-production with Enjoy Jazz Festival Mannheim, premiered in October 2018 - a tribute to the great british artist Robert Wyatt.
The four strong individuals - the drummer und composer Max Andrzejewski, the saxophone player Johannes Schleiermacher, the guitar player Tobias Hoffmann and bassist Andreas Lang - cultivated a playful, stubborn, passionate playing. Strong melodious compositions, avantgarde swing and expressive freedom… HÜTTE is burning.
After two successfull albums of the band plus vocal ensembles („HÜTTE und CHOR“ (Traumton 2014) and „HÜTTE and The Homegrown Organic Gospel Choir“ (Whyplayjazz 2017)) the highly energetic and award winning quartet is going to release the Robert Wyatt Tribute album in September 2019, on the label Whyplayjazz. This album features two guests, the young turkish singer Cansu Tanrikulu, and the keyboard and guitar player Jörg Hochapfel.
