Pretty common in the u.s.

We also have completely dry counties where the sale of alchohol is completely prohibited.

Lynchburg Tennessee the place where Jack Daniel's is is a dry county.

Or after 4 pm you can't buy spirits, and only buy beer etc until 6pm on a Saturday. Every week day it closes 8pm. Velkommen til Norge bro!

If you wanna enjoy a beer might I suggest beers in the "lettøl" category. It means "light beer". It is not sold as alcoholic beverage and is thus exempt from the no-sale restrictions so you can by it on Sundays and whenever the beer sale is closed. It is still alcoholic, but at half the proof that normal beers are (2.5%). It is also cheaper that a beer since it is less/no alcohol tax.

Do not confuse lettøl with "light beer", that is normal beer with less calories.

They got rid of that a few years ago in Indiana but you can only buy alchol between 12-8

You cant sell alcohol after a given time of day.
Most stores are closed on Sunday, also via regulation, in turn those few that are open that day are not allowed to sell alcohol then ether.
Only the Whine (Wine) Monopoly, run by the government, can sell hard liquor. Fuel and alcohol is mostly tax fees, can be 2/3 of the price actually. Beer has a lower tax fee and all of them have VAT on top. Which is 25%.

You can buy the light version which is only 2.4% alcohol on sundays (Lettøl), or you can go to an open bar and buy :D

And during week days you can buy only beer, no serious alcohol 😊For that you have to go to special stores with your ID.I think this is the reason Norwegians get so drunk on holidays in southern Europe in the summertime 😊❤❤

Blue Laws in Massachusetts until the early 80’s. In my church, it was considered shameful to do any shopping on Sundays.

There are still places in the US like that. Some states and some dry counties that don’t sell alcohol at all on any day.
