Story of the Mighty Morphin BLUE POWER RANGER | BILLY CRANSTON

David Yost played Billy Cranston, the original Blue Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Even though he didn't become a different Ranger, he was pivotal to the team helping Austin St John or Jason the Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to helping Jason David Frank or Tommy Oliver from Alien Rangers to Power Rangers Zeo. His morphed character would appear in Super Megaforce and Beast Morphers, but David Yost would finally reprise his role for the 30th anniversary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion to help the Cosmic Fury team defeat Lord Zedd.

I randomly ran into him at a crate and barrel. I didn’t want to be intrusive I did go over and shake his hand and tell him thank you, and how MMPR was a part of my childhood. I was going to give him his space from there, but he told me it’s ok if I wanted a picture with him. Even told me to check to make sure the picture was ok. Best part was he was actually wearing blue 😂 He was super cool and humble. And from our short interaction I could tell he really respects the fans.

What's so funny is that originally, Zack was cast as the Blue Ranger, Trini was Latina, and I believe Billy was the Red. Walter opted to be the Black Ranger so as to identify with black kids, Trini was eventually recast.
But the poor producers are the ones that got the attacks for type casting
