Nerf Elite Jr. - great for little kids or a terrible idea? Let me know!

They look like Buzzbee blasters if Buzzbee knew how human hands worked

You say that. But you have to understand that little kids have a ton of trouble priming most regular blasters. This is a way to introduce more people into the hobby!

They are useful for inviting new younger people to the hobby. A lot of little brothers and sisters might want to copy their bigger siblings and feel included at a Nerf War party. Sure they will outgrow them, sure Hasbro will profit [seeing clearly as quarterly numbers are all they care about], but it will invite more people into this [dying] hobby.

All the kids' products will inevitably lose their purpose to a degree due to their age-based specification. Even at first glance I see a lot of great design adaptations, embedded in an idea of simplification an ease of use. Big well-pronounced charging handles and slides, no trigger guards -- all for gripping actions with a whole palm, adequate for the low agility and strength of a child. I would push this philosophy even further and choose MEGA darts as main ammo due to its larger dimensions, providing easier manipulations while recharging and ammo picking. Overall, I think it's a great line and even greater trend -- it seems Hasbro once again respecting the (part of an) audience their products aim towards.

I miss the old days when Nerf was an older kid-adult hobby

I think it’s kinda a step back, a big part of the nerf community is people who mod or like the high powered dart zone, and those sell well, so making a weaker nerf blaster seems like a step in the wrong direction

I very much disagree. I go to nerf games with my 6 and 9 year old girls that love to play but struggle to use most blasters. I hope that these will be easy to use for them and perhaps means that they can participate more. And perhaps they are mod-able - my favorite blasters are high powered stuff that is geared in a way to easily use.

I think they’re great, my son is 3 with baby strength and baby self control. Someone will inevitably get hit in the face so I got him one of those. He loves it!

they have weak springs so kids can use them i remember not being able to pull the priming handle back on the nitefinder when i was a kid

I kind of think these are okay because my little brother can’t really prime the strong nerf guns and he doesn’t really understand mags but with these he could probably do a lot better and have a more fun time and also get less hurt

Nerf blasters for kids? What are they thinking, clearly nerf is for adults only.

I hope for more halo blasters, and alien blasters

I wonder if this is where the crappy engineers who made the original elite 2.0 blasters went

and for some reason they hit harder than original n-strike blasters

so that's a win i guess

The only thing that disappoints me about them is the price point. I would have no issues buying these for my kiddos and also the internals are super easy to mod
